What you get

What you get in Anthem

Garage door repair in Anthem often starts with a door that will not close, which leaves the house open. Tell us what it does when you press the button, we go over the options with you, and the repair is priced before it is scheduled. If the door is standing open, say that first.

  • A door that closes and stays closed, with the sensor line clear.
  • A spring pair replaced together on a door of the same build.
  • An opener fault read at the wall button, not guessed at.
  • A panel or door change checked against the community review before it is ordered.

Local doors

The doors in Anthem

Anthem is a planned community of 23,190 people at the 2020 census, at the north end of the Valley, and planned is the useful word here. A community built out in a defined run tends to have its doors, springs and openers installed within a few years of one another, so they can reach the end of their cycles within a few years of one another too. When a neighbor's spring goes, yours is worth a look.

The second local factor is the review. If your community has an architectural review, a door replacement may need approval before it goes in, and a color change or a full-view glass door is a common sticking point. Ask before the order is placed, not after. Then there is the heat. In July the garage can run hotter than the yard, so a tired spring can work harder and the grease can stop doing its job.

What people ask us in Anthem

Still have a question? Call (747) 243-2089 and say what the door is doing.

The opener light flashes and the door will not close. What does that mean?

On many units a flashing light points to the sensor circuit. One lens is out of line, something is in the beam, or the lens has dust on it. Straighten both lenses until the indicator on each one is steady, then try the door. If the light still flashes, the fault is in the sensor or its wiring.

Will my community review a new door before it goes in?

It may. If your community has an architectural review, a door replacement may need approval, and a color change or a full-view glass door is a common sticking point. Ask the community before the order is placed, since a door that arrives without approval can be a door that cannot go up.

My garage has a high ceiling. Does that change the opener?

It can. A jackshaft opener mounts on the side wall and turns the torsion bar instead of pulling a rail across the ceiling, which is the setup for a high lift or a cathedral ceiling where a rail will not fit. The door still needs the right springs for its weight, and the opener does not change that.

What does a spring replacement run in Anthem?

A pair of torsion springs is published at $150 to $350 (HomeGuide). A spring and cable done together is $200 to $500, and a spring with a new bar is $200 to $400, all HomeGuide. The door weight and the spring type decide where your job lands.
