Emergency garage door repair company in Scottsdale, AZ
You have a door that will not move, a car shut in the garage, or a house standing open to the street, so get everyone clear of the door and stop pressing the opener, then tell us what happened and someone from our team calls you back.
What you get
Someone answers the line, day or night
Emergency garage door repair in Scottsdale starts with the door left alone. A door that has dropped a cable, snapped a spring or taken a hit is a weight held by worn parts, and pressing the button again turns a repair into a bent panel and a dropped corner. Call the line, which is answered day or night, or send the form. Tell us what the door is doing and whether a car or a person is behind it, and someone from our team calls you back.
- A car out of the garage with the panels still straight.
- A door that comes down and shuts, so the house is not open to the street.
- A person on the line who takes down what happened and where.
- A price agreed before any work starts.
- One call that covers the spring, the cable, the track and the panel.

Signs
6 signs your door cannot wait for a weekday
A car trapped inside the garage
The manual release cord is the first thing to try, and the door stays where it is until someone can move it by hand.
A door stuck open overnight
Until that door comes down, the house is open to the street, and that is the part of the job that cannot wait.
A spring that broke with a bang
The door loses its counterweight, will not lift by hand, and the opener only grinds against a dead spring.
A cable snapped and the door hangs on one side
One corner has dropped and the door is wedged, so running it again is how a section gets bent.
A door hit by a car
A bumper can move the track, the panel and the frame at once, and none of it shows until the door is cycled.
An opener dead with the door closed and the release out of reach
With no way to disengage the carriage, the door has to be worked from inside the garage, and it goes easier with 2 people.

Signs
Types of failure behind a door that will not move
Torsion spring. A spring on a steel bar above the door head, wound to carry the weight of the door, and when it breaks the door loses that counterweight and will not lift by hand.
Cable and drum. One cable per side on a torsion door, and a snapped cable drops one corner so the door wedges in the track at an angle.
Opener and travel limits. A motor that hums without moving, or a carriage that has come loose, leaves a door that sits closed and ignores the button.
Impact damage. A bumper against a panel moves the track and the frame with it, and the door then binds at one height as it rises.

Panels and doors
Repair or replace?
After a night call the answer is often repair, because the door is still the door and one part gave out. A spring, a cable, a roller or a hinge is a part with a price, and the sections, the tracks and the opener stay. Replacement enters when the impact bent a section and shifted the track, or when the door was near the end of its life and the break finished it. That is a decision for daylight, with the door shut and the car out. Nothing about a broken spring after dark requires a new door that night.
Contact
The manual release is the first thing to reach for
Every opener has a release: a cord hanging from the carriage on a chain or belt drive, or a lever on a jackshaft unit on the side wall. Pulling it disconnects the door from the motor, and on a door with sound springs the door can then be lifted by hand. That is how a car gets out of a garage when the opener has died. What the release does not do is carry the weight. If a spring is broken or a cable has snapped, the door is heavy in a way that surprises people, and a door coming down on an arm or a shoulder is how a repair turns into an injury. Pull the release, then try the door with one hand and let it tell you. If it will not move, leave it.

Tracks and cables
Why the door stays put after a cable snaps
A cable runs from a drum at the end of the torsion bar down the side of the door, one per side, and together they keep the door level. When one lets go, the corner it was holding drops, the door racks in the track, and the two sides are no longer the same length. Running the opener at that point pulls against a door that is already wedged. The trolley keeps pushing, the panel twists, and a bent section and a torn track follow. This is a common way a small cable job becomes a door replacement, and it happens in the seconds after someone presses the button to see if it will work. Keep people and pets out from under the door, leave the button alone, and let the door sit until someone can look at it.

5 questions
What people ask us
Still have a question? Call (747) 243-2089 and say what the door is doing.
Is the line answered at night?
Yes. The line is answered day or night. Tell us what the door is doing, whether a car or a person is behind it, and a number that reaches you at that hour. Someone from our team calls you back.
My car is trapped. What do I try first?
The manual release. The cord hangs from the carriage on most openers, and pulling it disengages the door from the motor. If the springs are sound, the door lifts by hand from there. If it will not lift, stop, because a broken spring makes the door far heavier than it looks.
A spring broke and the door is half open. Can I pull it down?
No. A door with a broken spring has lost its counterweight and can come down hard and without warning. Do not pull it down. Leave it where it is, keep everyone clear, and do not run the opener to see if it settles.
The opener is dead and the release is out of reach. What then?
The door has to be worked from inside the garage, and it goes easier with 2 people. Do not force the door or the carriage. Tell us the garage size and what is parked in it when you call, so the next step fits the space.
Will a night call cost more?
It can. HomeGuide's spring page notes that emergency repairs in the evening, on weekends or on holidays carry premium charges, and the ranges above do not price a night call separately. A service call fee of $50 to $75 (Angi) is often part of the bill. The price gets agreed before any work starts.
